Frequently Asked Questions

What is a QR code?
QR (Quick Response) codes are two-dimensional barcodes that can be scanned using a smartphone camera or QR code reader app. They can store various types of information such as URLs, text, contact details, and more. When scanned, they quickly direct users to websites, display text, or perform specific actions based on the encoded data.
How do I scan a QR code?
Most modern smartphones can scan QR codes directly through their camera app. Simply open your camera, point it at the QR code, and a notification should appear. If your camera doesn't automatically scan QR codes, you may need to download a QR code scanner app from your app store.
What's the difference between PNG and SVG downloads?
PNG is a raster image format that works well for most purposes but may become pixelated when enlarged. SVG is a vector format that maintains perfect quality at any size, making it ideal for printing or when you need to resize the QR code. SVG files are also typically smaller in file size.
Can I customize my QR code with a logo?
Our basic generator doesn't support adding logos to QR codes. However, QR codes have error correction capabilities, which means you can overlay a small logo in the center after downloading without affecting scannability. Just make sure not to cover too much of the code, and test the final result to ensure it still scans properly.
Is there a limit to how much information a QR code can store?
Yes, QR codes have capacity limits. The maximum amount of data depends on the type of information and the QR code version. Generally, a QR code can store up to about 4,000 alphanumeric characters. For best scanning results, we recommend keeping the data concise, especially for URLs or text content.
